A parser is trying to fill database fields: name, email, phone, employer, job title, start date, end date, school, degree, skills.

It finds these by looking for recognisable headings and predictable date patterns. Anything creative confuses it.

Common causes of data loss

• Details inside headers or footers — frequently skipped entirely
• Text inside images or logos — invisible
• Tables and text boxes — often read in the wrong order
• Invented headings like “My Journey” instead of “Experience”
